Pacific Resort AITUTAKI: The Perfect Backdrop

Pacific Resort Aitutaki is my absolute favorite resort on the island. Unfortunately, this venue doesn’t host many weddings, but when they do, it’s an absolute dream.

There’s something about the atmosphere here that feels so peaceful. It’s quiet enough to hear the sound of the lagoon lapping against the shore, tropical birds calling in the distance, and the soft rustling of palm trees. It’s a place that doesn’t just look beautiful—it feels beautiful.

Moana is from Aitutaki, so bringing Nathan’s family to her home island made the celebration even more meaningful. She got ready in her childhood home, surrounded by her mum, nana, aunties, and closest friends.

Most of my Aitutaki weddings take place on the beach—it’s what the island is known for. But Moana and Nathan wanted something different. They chose an intimate church ceremony, which added such a unique and personal touch to their day. The churches in the Cook Islands are absolutely stunning, full of history, character, and intricate details that make them so special. Photographing them inside the church afterward, using the light streaming through the stained-glass windows, created some of my favorite images of the day.

Every time I get to photograph a wedding in Aitutaki, I feel a little rush of excitement. There’s just something about this place that never loses its magic.

I’m so grateful I get to capture it all. ❤️
